The Botanical Garden of Turin

The Botanical Garden of Turin was founded in 1729 at Vittorio Amedeo II's behest.

Since its foundation, its objective has been to disseminate knowledge of plants, their uses and their ecology and it is involved with the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology in scientific research on plants and their conservation. Indeed during the week it hosts university lectures and laboratories.

Since 1997 it has been open to the public from the end of March to the beginning of November, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, offering the possibility of guided tours and educational activities for school groups. Conferences and thematic guided tours are also organized here. 

The Arboretum hosts an Apiary, with the production of urban honey.
