The organization of the Botanical Garden of Turin
The Botanical Garden is part of the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology of the University of Turin.
Since 2012 the Director has been Prof Maria Consolata Siniscalco, appointed by the Director of the DBIOS to identify, coordinate and implement the scientific lines and educational programs.
From 2022 the Research Technician is Loic Maurice Mingozzi.
The staff consists of a head gardener and a gardener, both permanent, and two seasonal agricultural labourers. They are supported by volunteers who are experts in gardening for various gardening jobs and for the care of the garden Tropical greenhouse and of Multiplication greenhouse.
In 2026 the company that won the contract to manage the guided tours for the public is Semi nel vento APS.
The guides who carry out the guided tours have degrees in Natural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Forestry Sciences or Agricultural Sciences.
The Botanical Garden of Turin is a member of the BGCI (Botanical Gardens Conservation International).
Collaborate with the Botanical Gardens and Historic Gardens Group of the Italian Botanical Society.
It belongs to Network of naturalistic and scientific museums and Piedmontese natural science centers, coordinated by the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences of Turin.
In 1998 the Association Amici dell'Orto Botanico di Torino, which has the aim of contributing to the financing of the maintenance activities of the Botanical Garden, of organizing moments of cultural interest relating to botany and of raising awareness of the Botanical Garden.
