The Botanical Garden of Turin
The Botanical Garden of Turin was founded in 1729 at the behest of Vittorio Amedeo II.
Since its foundation, its objective has been to disseminate knowledge of plants, their uses and their ecology and has been involved by Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology in scientific research on plants and their conservation. During the week it is in fact home to university lectures and laboratories.
Since 1997 it has been open to the public from the end of March to the beginning of November, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, offering the possibility of guided tours and educational activities for school groups and organizing conferences and thematic guided tours.
The Arboretum hosts an Apiary, with production of city honey.
