The Turin University Botanical Garden was founded in 1729 on the indications of Vittorio Amedeo II.

Since its foundation, the goal has been to spread knowledge of plants, their uses and their ecology and is involved by the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology in scientific research on plants and their conservation.

Since 1997 it is open to the public from mid-April to mid-October, offering the possibility of guided tours and educational activities for school groups and organizes conferences and thematic guided tours.

In the Grove there is an Apiary, with city honey production.
